WELCOME TO TENNESSEE SAFARI PARK

The Tennessee Safari Park boasts a 7.5 mile drive through safari and a 20 acre walk through zoo.

Our drive through safari offers the unique experience of close up interactions with exotic animals as well as actually feeding them yourself. Why be on the outside looking in like a typical zoo when you can drive right in and join them? As you drive along and explore our drive through safari, animals from every continent but Antartica will come right up to your vehicle windows. Some will even block your path to make sure you stop and say “hi”. These animals enjoy free range freedom but can usually be seen choosing to visit with our guests. It enriches their daily lives as well as ours.

Our walk through zoo allows you to get out and stretch your legs along 20 acres of additional animal exhibits and encounters. We offer a petting zoo of adorable and friendly pygmy goats for more hands on fun to enjoy. If feeding a giraffe is on your bucket list you're in the right place. Our giraffe feeding station allows you to hand feed a giraffe and be sure to take a selfie to capture the moment. Some daring guests even hold the carrot in their mouth to feed the giraffe which results in an amazing experience, photo, and usually a slobbery kiss from an 18inch long tongue! Parakeet landing is where you can see free flight parakeets, Australian crested doves, and demoiselle cranes. You can also hand feed the parakeets and some may even land on your hand, arm, shoulder, or even your head! Our squirrel monkey exhibit is another guest favorite. Watch these curious and always on the go creatures enjoying their exhibit as they travel to and fro in an open air tunnel that goes right over guests’ heads! Immerse yourself in our newest exhibit, "the sloth barn," which brings you a spectacular panoramic view of amazing animals from South America! We have a large group of Linnaeus's two-toed sloths and the equally odd and adorable prehensile-tailed porcupines. This exhibit is seasonal due to the temperature requirements of the animals; however, we have alternate viewing options for colder months. A gem mining sluice is open seasonally for kids of all ages to enjoy. Our large gift shop offers a wide variety of souvenirs, gifts, drinks, and snacks.

About Us
The Tennessee Safari Park's mission is to create and provide educational activities and environments for the community and abroad to bring appreciation and conservational awareness for all living things. We aim to gain long term sustainability for our world's rare and endangered flora and fauna in their natural environment.

The Tennessee Safari Park is located on a century farm owned by the Conley Family since 1858, called Hillcrest. The farm has produced numerous types of crops and has always stayed entrepreneurial in the products that were developed and sold on the farm. Claude H Conley I instilled a strong interest in his son, Claude M Conley, at a very young age to love and appreciate Hillcrest, the Conley Family and all of its animals. They collected pheasants, peafowl and various types of deer. This was a pivotal moment in the young mans life and he knew he wanted to see animals from around the world saved and protected right here on the family farm. The collection grew over the years with Bison in 1963, forming the first privately owned Bison in the state of Tennessee. Damara Zebras were added in 1980 and various rare and endangered antelope were added throughout the 80's and 90's. In 2007, Claude Sr. and his two sons, Claude H Conley II and Jon Wesley Conley, decided to create a park to showcase these rare and endangered species and bring a top tourism attraction to the West Tennessee rural farm. Today the safari park has one of the largest collections of zoo animals in the United States.
